A greener side of Antalya
Antalya is more than its beaches. Just beyond the city, pine forests, rocky valleys and cool streams create an easy change of pace. A waterfall day can combine a short morning walk, a local lunch and a relaxed return to the coast.
The three stops offer different experiences: city-friendly Düden, woodland Kurşunlu and the quieter rural landscape around Uçansu.
Düden: two views, one river
Lower Düden
At Lower Düden, water drops from the cliffs into the Mediterranean. Sea, rock and coastline come together in one memorable viewpoint. Morning light is softer for photographs, while late afternoon feels calmer. A coastal boat route offers a different view of the cascade.
Upper Düden
Upper Düden feels like a shaded nature park, with trees, short paths and rock galleries around the stream. It works well for families and hot days. Wear shoes with grip because stones can be damp, and arrive early on busy weekends.
Kurşunlu: a cool forest break
In the Aksu direction, Kurşunlu follows pools and small cascades through pine woodland. The best way to enjoy it is to slow down along the path rather than rush to one photo spot.
Kurşunlu pairs naturally with Perge or Aspendos. Visit the ancient sites during cooler hours, then spend the afternoon under the trees. Check current access conditions before travelling.
Uçansu: further away, more rural
Near the rural Gebiz area of Serik, Uçansu feels less like a city attraction and more like a nature day. Water levels vary with rainfall and season, and the final approach may involve uneven roads or a short walk. Plan it as a dedicated excursion.
Take local warnings seriously. Wet rock, strong flow and sudden changes after rain can be hazardous. Follow signs, use proper shoes and enter the water only where current rules allow it.
Which stop fits your day?
- Short city escape: Lower or Upper Düden.
- Family-friendly nature walk: Kurşunlu.
- Quieter adventure: Uçansu, with extra time for the road.
Access and a simple Sun Travel plan
Düden is easiest from central Antalya, Lara and Konyaaltı. From Belek and Kundu, Kurşunlu combines well with Perge and Aspendos. From Kemer, Beldibi and Göynük, leave early and allow for coastal traffic on the way back.
For several stops in one day, a private vehicle or organised transfer is more comfortable than public transport. Bring water, sun protection, a small towel, grippy shoes and a waterproof phone pouch.
