Top 10 Things to Do in Antalya with Kids (Family-Friendly Guide)
Antalya is widely considered one of the most family-friendly holiday destinations in the world. With its sprawling all-inclusive resorts, shallow Mediterranean beaches, and a local culture that absolutely adores children, it is a stress-free paradise for parents.
But no matter how great your hotel pool is, kids will eventually want an adventure. Whether you are traveling with a toddler or a teenager, here is our ultimate guide to the top things to do in Antalya with kids.
1. The Land of Legends Theme Park
Often referred to as the "Disneyland of Turkey," The Land of Legends in Belek is the ultimate family day out. It combines a massive water park (with over 40 slides, a wave pool, and a lazy river) with a world-class dry theme park featuring massive rollercoasters.
- Best for: All ages (toddlers have dedicated splash zones, while teens can ride the Hyper Coaster).
- Pro Tip: Don't wait in the ticket lines in the heat. Book your The Land of Legends Tour in advance, which includes skip-the-line tickets and air-conditioned hotel transfers.
2. Pirate Boat Trips
If you want to get out on the Mediterranean Sea, skip the standard quiet yachts and book a Pirate Boat! These massive wooden galleons are designed purely for family fun. They feature foam parties, face painting, treasure hunts, and enthusiastic entertainment staff dressed as pirates.
- Best for: Ages 3 to 10.
- Book it: Whether you are staying in the east or west, we offer the family-favorite Gonster Pirate Boat Trip with foam party and animations.
3. Antalya Aquarium & Tunnel Tour
Need a break from the midday sun? The Antalya Aquarium is fully air-conditioned and features one of the longest tunnel aquariums in the world (131 meters long!). Kids can walk right under sharks and massive rays. There is also a "Snow World" exhibit inside where kids can play with real snow—a surreal experience when it’s 35°C outside!
- Best for: Toddlers and young children.
4. Splashing at the Waterparks
If you don't want to dedicate a full day to The Land of Legends, the local waterparks offer fantastic value. They are packed with adrenaline-pumping slides, wave pools, and dedicated kids' areas, making it a guaranteed hit for teenagers who have outgrown the hotel’s kiddie pool.
- Book it: Grab your tickets for The Land of Legends Theme Park or DoluSu for a day of non-stop splashing.
5. Riding the Tünektepe Cable Car
Kids love the novelty of riding a cable car. The Tünektepe Teleferik takes you soaring above the pine forests up to a 600-meter peak. The ride is smooth and safe, and at the top, parents can enjoy a coffee with panoramic views of the entire Antalya coastline while the kids enjoy the binoculars.
6. Exploring Düden Waterfalls
Nature walks with a stroller can be tricky, but the Lower Düden Waterfalls are completely accessible. Located in the Lara district, this massive waterfall plunges dramatically off a cliff directly into the sea. There is a beautiful, flat park surrounding it where kids can run around safely.
7. Discovering Lara Sandland
Located right on Lara Beach, Sandland is an open-air museum featuring massive, intricate sand sculptures created by artists from around the world. The theme changes every year (ranging from mythology to space). It is beautifully illuminated at night, making it a great after-dinner activity.
Choosing the Right Beach
If you are traveling with toddlers, Lara Beach is generally preferred by parents over Konyaaltı. Lara features soft, golden sand and very shallow water, perfect for building sandcastles and safe wading. Konyaaltı is stunning, but it is a pebble beach, and the water gets deep much faster.
Practical Tips for Parents
- Supplies: Do not worry about packing two weeks' worth of diapers or formula. Turkish pharmacies (Eczane) and massive supermarkets like Migros stock all major international baby brands (Pampers, Aptamil, etc.).
- The Heat: If visiting in July or August, keep the kids out of the direct sun between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Schedule your Antalya City Tour or heavy sightseeing for the early morning.
- Dining Out: High chairs are available in 99% of restaurants, and Turkish waiters are famously accommodating to families, often playing with toddlers to give parents a chance to eat!
